In the study called ‘Effectiveness of direct vs indirect technique myofascial release in the management of tension-type headache,’ researchers formally examined the use of myofascial release in patients suffering from tension headaches. Myofascial release was performed on the patients across 12 weeks consisting of 24 sessions each. The group that received myofascial release noted an almost 60% reduction in their headache frequency.
